1. Introduction & Agreement
These Terms and Conditions form a straightforward legal contract between you and MediBuddy LTD. By completing your registration, joining our waitlist, or logging into our app or website, you confirm that you accept these terms in full and agree to follow them. If you do not agree to everything written here, you must not create an account or use our platform.
2. Age Restrictions & Parental Consent Rules
We maintain strict age boundaries to ensure compliance with data protection laws like the UK Data Protection Act and GDPR:
- Users aged 16 and over: You can sign up for and manage your own account independently.
- Users under 16 years of age: You are not permitted to hold an independent account. To use MediBuddy, your parent or legal guardian must provide verifiable explicit consent during the signup process.
- Carer accounts for children: Parents and legal guardians are welcome to manage profiles for dependents under 16 using our split-login tools.
If we discover or have reason to believe that an account is being operated by someone under 16 without clear, verified parental permission, we will immediately close the account, erase the associated data, and revoke access without notice.
3. Strict Medical Disclaimer (What We Are Not)
The MediBuddy platform is entirely administrative. It is designed to act as a digital organizer to help you log medication, set automatic routine reminders, keep track of appointments, and securely share notes between patients and carers.
- Reminders are passive: Reminders are triggered exactly as you set them. Our systems do not check for dangerous drug interactions, verify correct dosages, or cross-reference schedules.
- Do not use in an emergency: MediBuddy is not connected to emergency services. If you are experiencing serious or sudden symptoms, call your local emergency services (like 999, 112, or 911) immediately.
- Consult professional help: Always review prescription schedules, changes to dosages, or medical concerns with your GP, specialist nurse, or qualified pharmacist. You remain solely responsible for your real-world medical decisions.
4. Caregiver Connections & Split Access
If you choose to link your account to a caregiver using our split-login functionality, you are giving that person direct permission to see your medical logs, schedules, and private health notes. By setting up this connection, you promise us that your carer has the legal authority to view this information (whether through your direct consent, a family agreement, or power of attorney).
MediBuddy LTD is not responsible for validating individual caregiver credentials. We do not accept any liability for data shared or actions taken because of family disputes, broken relationships, or unauthorized access via your login details.
5. Privacy & Data Security Assurances
Your data privacy is incredibly important to us. We manage and protect all health logs in line with the UK GDPR and EU GDPR frameworks. We promise never to lease, trade, sell, or disclose your sensitive health logs or medical tracking records to ad networks, insurance groups, or commercial data brokers. Your files are encrypted both while they are being sent and while stored on our servers.
6. Prohibited Activities & Account Enforcement
When using MediBuddy, you agree to provide real, accurate details. You must not attempt to reverse engineer our software, load malicious scripts, scrape data from our app, or manipulate our system pathways. We hold the right to refuse waitlist signups, block specific IP networks, or permanently ban accounts at our sole discretion if these terms are broken.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the furthest extent allowed by law, MediBuddy LTD, its employees, and tech providers are not liable for any losses, medical issues, or health setbacks that result from your use or misuse of the application. This includes missed dosages, incorrect notes entries, calendar mistakes, or phone notification failures.
If a court decides that we are liable to you for a claim, our total combined financial liability to you will never exceed the exact amount of money you have paid directly to MediBuddy LTD during the 12 months leading up to the claim.
8. Governing Law & Legal Forum
These terms and any legal disagreements or contracts relating to them are governed entirely by the laws of England and Wales.
If any dispute cannot be resolved privately through our support channels, it must be brought exclusively before the courts in London, England. This choice of court applies globally, regardless of where you live, where you registered your account, or where you downloaded our mobile or web apps.
